Wheres your favorite place to ride with the family? my three favorite Nottingham locations offer car free leisurely family cycling, perfect for summer rides with a picnic stop or two along the way without the safety worries of inner city cycling.
The Grantham Canal: http://www.granthamcanal.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/GCS-Map.jpg
A brilliant flat ride along the winding banks of the Grantham Canal from the banks of the River Trent to the stunning scenery of the Vale Of Belvoir, a great place to stop for tea and a cake around 20 miles from the Trent is Dove Cottage, they even have an adventure playground for the kids if they still have any energy left!
The National Water Sports Centre: http://www.nwscnotts.com/nwsc/PARK_CycleSegway
Great facilities with loads to do, either ramble around the 2.5 mile rowing lake or take one of the small off road routes dotted around the park, either way a must see is the Ski Tow and White Water Rafting Course, the main building has a great family restaurant and there are two smaller cafes dotted around the site, not forgetting a kids climbing adventure centre and Segway hire.
Sherwood Pines: http://www.forestry.gov.uk/sherwoodpines
Ride through the stunning pine forest on various marked managed trails to suit all levels of rider, or just hang out with the kids at the stunning adventure playground, the choice is yours.
